Day Two
Beneath the Ground
Today’s piece, Beneath the Ground, feels like an excavation — a tender layering of what is hidden, held, and slowly becoming.
Pressed greenery rests against weathered paper and fragments of earth-coloured textures, like something unearthed from a place where time moves differently. The piece carries the quiet truth that so much of our growth happens out of sight: in the compost of old stories, in the dark soil of our lived experience, in the parts of ourselves we rarely show.
Beneath the Ground is a reminder that the unseen layers matter. What looks still on the surface is often shifting, softening, and preparing us for what comes next.
The work is on vintage Somerset paper with a backing of heavy warm white artist paper signed on front.
